Database cleaner - partial clean possible?

by typoagrafka » Mon Feb 24, 2014 2:04 pm

I was wondering, is it possible to choose, which tables/rows/columns I can clean with this tool or will it just clean everything, that is not default phpbb? I would like to know it before I start cleaning ;-) since some modules are still important to me, but others I would really want to get rid of.

Thanks,

Joanna

It is selective for tables and columns, and with rows in some tables. With modules the only choice is whether to reset them to the standard set or not.

If you are doing this to get rid of some MODs you need to remove the file changes from those MODs before removing the database changes. (MODs and modules are different things.)

If I wanted to update phpBB 3.0.* to 3.1.4, with a few mods installed on 3.0.*, could I use the database cleaner before removing the changes made to files, since the upgrade to 3.1.4 requires deleting all forum files on the server with the exception of the config.php file, the images/ directory, the files/ directory, the store/ directory?
