time out

by regazer » Fri Apr 03, 2015 4:55 am

Hi !

For to test several forum-versions for premodding I copied an existing database. There were no modifications that have effect to the database itself.

With the forums I have no problems to use this database.

But when trying to use the stk (I tried several versions, also the newest) I always get a timeout error, but never any access.

The error message is
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in drive:\mainpath\subdir\phpBB3\stk\includes\functions.php on line 408 where I replaced here my original data with "drive:\mainpath\subdir\"

installed with XAMPP on local network, all with phpBB 3.0.x - versions (3.0.12, 3.0.13x, 3.0.14-dev-x)

What errors are build in the stk, when it can't fix such thing, what isn't a real database error. With the forums it works, but not with the stk.

Is anybody here able to tell me what to do?

Oh, and there's something else: the stk isn't translated completly. Many parts are in english as default.

Thank you very much. I'll try it out.

I found out the error caused on wrong settings of "script_path", "cookie_domain" and "cookie_path" in the database and fixed it with manual editing of the sql-file using notepad++.

Now I will try it with an unchange copy of the database (after fixing the stk) and then report the result here.

EDIT: Now with the stk-fix I have access to the stk, but got some other problems.

Often the 'REQUEST_PHPBB_VERSION_EXPLAIN' - message appears and then I found out, that 3.0.14-dev isn't in the list. But the message didn't appear with such version but with 3.0.12.

The other thing: It seems that stk can't fix "script_path" and "cookie_domain" ?

Only stable releases are supported here at phpbb.com. 3.0.14 is under development and not supported. Regarding the script path and cookie domain, the cookie domain can be changed with the Auto-Cookies tool. The script path should not cause sufficient problems to keep you from fixing it in the ACP, which is why the STK doesn't have that capability.
