One small criticism of the template I have is that the forum unread icon isn't very clear. I have created a new version where I have changed the colour of the icon, from:
to:
This is just a draft and I may tone it down a bit, but I wanted to make sure I could replace the existing one. However, when I copy this back to the styles/AllanStyle-SUBSILVER/theme/images directory and clearing the cache (and browser cache), the icon doesn't change.
What am I missing?

Re: Replacing icons
I have tried setting 'Recompile stale style components' in 'Load settings' to yes, submitting, clearing the cache, but that doesn't work either!

Re: Replacing icons
I've noticed something odd.
I had set up a subdomain for the forum forum.<domain>.com which redirected to <domain>.com/phpBB3. It was supposed to have been more convenient, but I eventually gave up on that and redirected all non www to www (in .htaccess) last year when I was tidying up some things. However, when I got a new admin member activation request this morning, I noticed that the links for the user profile and activation were forum.<domain>.com and when I clicked on them, the forum had the correct new icons!
So the problems I've had may be something to do with that rather than the template - but I've no idea what: I've no idea where phpBB3 is picking up the subdomain from. If I find out, I'll post back here.
