Banner question - noob at html

by MoxSimmer » Fri Aug 26, 2011 2:10 am

Hey
Very nice style, this was the one some friends and I decided best fit our project.

But I've run into a few small problems.
The biggest one is the gradient banner at the top- just to make this easier on anyone reading this- how would I go about replacing that with my own banner? I'm inexperienced at html, and can't exactly find where that area is defined in overall_header.html.

My idea was to replace the gradient banner with my own image that spanned the entire width of the screen. The site logo would no longer be necessary, and the login details area would appear over the banner.

Any thoughts?
Thanks for your time, whoever reads this

If you want to find a specific thing in a style or webpage just get Firebug.

Regarding your question #logodesc is what controls that image and background color. The image top-loginlogo.png for each color is located in their own separate folder ex: Red (default) would be in theme/images/red. To control the color and image itself just refer to the colors stylesheet, to control everything else open custom.css.

Hope that answers everything.

Thanks so much for the fast reply!
I had totally forgotten about Firebug. I was able to find logodesc and set up a banner :)

Thanks very much for the help, although I did have one more question-
In a user's post, when they are online, their avatar overlaps the diagonal "ONLINE" tag on their posts.
Is this easy to fix?

Easiest way would be to set the max dimensions to something low so that it doesn't overlap. You could try searching through phpBB for a detailed fix since I'm sure a few people have had this problem over the years.
