Missing Icons

by mojavemark » Sun Jun 04, 2017 3:22 am

First off, great looking style. Only issue is missing icons for the FAQ, ACP and MCP. Also the quick links is in the middle of the nav bar.
Just updated to 3.2, no mods or Extensions.
Sorry for the funky looking color, save to a .gif, low quality, but i think it conveys the idea.

I understand these are a new type of font, but am I missing something to make them show up? If I need to edit some thing let me know, I have no problems doing that. Thanks.

Hello mojavemark, this style doesnt have own template files. My first theory: Your prosilver-template-files may be modded and are not up to date. If you bring your prosilver template fully to 3.2 this problem should be gone.

Thanks for the quick response.

When I installed your style the first thing I noticed was there were not any templates, so I figured and then confirmed by checking the style.cfg that this style inherited the templates from the prosilver style.

I just updated to 3.2 using the full package update.

This board had no mods when at the 3.0 level, and has no extensions now {3.2}, the ne green style was the first thing I did to it. Prosilver has all the icons showing.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks again.

Maybe you downloaded the 3.1.8-version of this style?

A look to your screenshot shows a few more style-problems.

Already checked that, I downloaded the correct one.
I'm sure it is something on my end though. For kicks and grins I installed a clean 3.2 test forum, installed ne-blackgreen and it works 100% as it should.
For some reason the lines of code that should load the missing icons does not load on the forum in question. Not sure why.

Unless you have any other ideas I'm going to "reupdate" the forum to 3.2 again, reinstall the style again and see what happens.
Thanks again.

Before reupdate you should delete the whole prosilver-folder (i think you have a backup!) and refill it with the folder from the full-version download.

On the missing icons this is the way the code that is loading.

Code: Select all

		<li data-last-responsive="true">
	<a href="/forum/app.php/help/faq?sid=845942da37d8a4ae675fb01e65329f24" rel="help"
              title="Frequently Asked Questions" role="menuitem">
		<i class="icon fa-question-circle fa-fw" aria-hidden="true"></i><span>FAQ</span>
	</a>
	</li>
this is what loads on my test board

Code: Select all

		<li data-last-responsive="true">
	<a href="/forum/app.php/help/faq?sid=845942da37d8a4ae675fb01e65329f24" rel="help"
           title="Frequently Asked Questions" role="menuitem">
		<i class="icon fa-question-circle fa-fw" aria-hidden="true">
		::before
		</i>
		<span>FAQ</span>
	</a>
</li>

the

Code: Select all

::before
is what is different. It doesn't show up on the view source, but using the google inspect element it does.

I'll give that a shot right now, that will be easy.

So you have a vanilla-folder with prosilver and ne-blackgreen. No more problems from here.
Next step: Check your extensions: All extensions should be deactivated.

That is correct, vanilla folder is perfect, looks great.

Only extension is the VigLink that comes with the install of 3.2 and it is deactivated now, but I have had it on and off with no effect.
On the vanilla board it is activated.

You are welcome.
Check if your style is saved in the database and change it to folder instead.

In the next step you could first rename and later delete the important folders "vendor" and "includes" and reupload both folders from the full-installation.zip
