Dear PayBas, What about phpbb3.2 update? - PBTech

Didn't realized I still tracked this topic, but while I am here, allow me to re-emphasize that there are many templates changes to be done for the 3.2 update. Really, if you all updated to phpBB 3.2 with any thought of keeping your old version theme, without any knowledge of html & css, I'll be honest like I try to always be.. you be screwed! That is until PayBas completes his update.

You are all better off, switching your sites to 3.2 default Prosilver for the time-being, especially if you have activity on a live board ofc.

If you are still very determined, like I understand most of us are, create an account on my site, then inspect any element you wish, and learn to edit on your own. My theme has grown into a customized PBtech update, merged with the new Prosilver, since PBtech was always based on Prosilver. I am highly certain it WILL NOT be like what PayBas is working on now. I too could not wait, and just went my own path with what I know. I have probably done 100's of edits, just to PBtech alone (a few to 3.2 default prosilver css only files also), some of which you all will not even need or want. So seek out the ones you do, if you so wish by creating an account on my site, right-click to inspect elements, and learn! OR, pm me, and I'll just send you a zip package of my entire style folder. Either way, this is a ton of work! So much, that I'm betting none of us want to do more than once! :)

Best I can offer atm guys. I think everyone is bogged down with a mass of work (on spare time even) since 3.2.

I still highly suggest, if you do not wish to update it yourself, to JUST WAIT FOR PAYBAS! Switch to default prosilver 3.2, and don't create double work for yourself. As for me, I plan to remain on my own template from here on out, updating will not be a challenge or a long wait for me from here on out. :) So throw the updates now phpBB!

I also happend to have PBTech on a site, then upgraded to 3.2, but I always try this first on a test environment. I'm using my own child theme based upon PBTech, making changes even easier.

The first thing to do is get FontAwesome included. Edit overall_header.html, then add just above the responsive.css line:

Code: Select all

	<!-- inserted for phpBB 3.2 -->
	<link href="{ROOT_PATH}assets/css/font-awesome.min.css?assets_version={T_ASSETS_VERSION}" rel="stylesheet" />
	<!-- end insertion for phpBB 3.2 -->
That will fix the editor buttons to quite some extend already. Then, edit custom.css and add following rules:

Code: Select all

/* Fixes forPBTech style phpBB 3.1 --> 3.2 */
.icon, .button .icon {
	display: inline-block;
	font-weight: normal;
	font-style: normal;
	font-variant: normal;
	font-family: FontAwesome;
	font-size: 14px;
	line-height: 1;
	text-rendering: auto;
	text-shadow: 0px 0px;
	/* optimizelegibility throws things off #1094 */
	-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased;
	-moz-osx-font-smoothing: grayscale;
}
button {
	background:transparent;
}
dl.icon {
	display:block;
}
ul.topiclist {
	margin-left:-40px;
}
ul.topiclist dt {
	margin-right:-440px;
}
ul.topiclist dt .list-inner {
	margin-right:440px;
}
ul.topiclist dt .list-inner {
	padding-left:45px;
}
ul.topiclist dd.posts,ul.topiclist dd.views,ul.topiclist dd.lastpost {
	margin-left:0px;
}
ul.topiclist dl {
	background-repeat:no-repeat;
	-webkit-margin-before:0;
	-webkit-margin-after:0;
}
li.row {
	border:0;
}
.pagination a.button {
	height:24px;
	line-height:20px;
}
.pagination li.page-jump,.pagination li.arrow.next {
	margin-right:0px;
	padding-right:0px;
}
.pagination li.page-jump a:after,.pagination li.arrow.next a:after,
.pagination li.arrow.previous a:after  {
	display:none;
}
.pagination span.sr-only{
	font-size:0;
	padding:0;
}
.search-box fieldset {
	padding:0;
}
.search-box fieldset button,.search-box fieldset a.button  {
	font-size:0;
}
.search-box fieldset a.button {
	margin-left:4px;
}
.back2top {
	text-align:right;
	height:11px;
}
.back2top a.top {
	width:11px;
	height:11px;
	letter-spacing:1000px;
	overflow:hidden;
	margin-right:0;
}
.icon:before {
	padding-right:2px;
}
.button-secondary:focus, .button-secondary:hover, .button:focus .icon, .button:hover .icon {
	color:#0a8ed0;
}
.format-buttons {
	margin: 15px 0 2px 0;f
}
#format-buttons button.button {
	border-color:#C7C3BF;
	background-color:#E9E9E9;
	background:#444;
	/* Old browsers */
	/* FF3.6+ */
	background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(top, #FFFFFF 0%, #E9E9E9 100%);
	background-image: linear-gradient(to bottom, #FFFFFF 0%, #E9E9E9 100%);
	/* W3C */
	filter: progid: DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#FFFFFF', endColorstr='#E9E9E9', GradientType=0 );
	/* IE6-9 */
	box-shadow: 0 0 0 1px #FFFFFF inset;
	-webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 0 1px #FFFFFF inset;
	color: #D31141;
}
select.bbcode-size {
	padding:5px;
	width:80px;
}
.forum-blocks ul.forums dd {
	font-size:80%;
}
#nav-footer li.breadcrumbs::before {
	display:none;
}
/* End fixes */
It's not finished yet but the forum is working reasonably well already.
