All fine for 3.2.7?

by WainPetopia » Thu Jul 18, 2019 3:21 pm

I’ve just upgraded our forums and wanted to test out a few new styles, and add dark and light style options. Your Pycode is, I think, really beautifully done and the nicest of the dark styles. I see its version compatibility is listed as only 3.2.5 but so far it seems to work for 3.2.7. Are there likely to be any hidden issues with this, and is there likely to be an official 3.2.7 version soon? Thanks :)

It’s probably not a suitable question for this forum but I’ve discovered the problem with having both a dark and a light theme is that customised user name / user group colours often look fine on one but not both. So far I haven’t been able to find a way of customising them for individual themes but I’ll keep looking.

Hello WainPetopia,

I am glad this theme serves you well. There are no big changes between 3.2.5 and 3.2.7 phpBB versions, that's why it is still working without noticeable lags.
Yes, I plan to update update it to 3.2.7 in the upcoming days, but can't tell for sure when will it be released, as it will need to be approved by moderators. At the same time you will be able to download it from my github, until moderators will review it. Stay tuned.

Regarding user group colors, I believe it is possible to customize it with some custom extension, but I don't know if there are any for this purpose. You can try to choose some colors that will work on both styles, or, on the light style, add a background color to the text (it's container), so on pycode theme there will be no visible changes, but on the light theme, only the background of the username will be a dark one (same as on pycode for example) and the colors of the username will remain visible as on pycode theme. Just an idea, didn't tested it, but I believe it should work.
