Hi weeb, really sorry to be a pain but is it possible to create additional files to make the ACP Announcement Centre work in we_clearblue?

Having announcements on the index page is going to be quite important for my forum but ACP only works in prosilver and subsilver. I really don't want to use those themes because your theme is so much better!

Hi. Check the file from attachment. Insert it into we_clearblue/template/.

Hi weeb, thanks for reply. Not sure what I am missing, I have uploaded unzipped attachment to we_clearblue/template but I didn't see the announcement box so I refreshed everything in ACP but still no box. Announcement box always visible in prosilver but not yet in we_clearblue. Am I missing something?

Probably you didn't edit overall_header.html for we_clearblue

Sorry for my ignorance weeb but what instruction? There were no instructions in the zip file.

Adding:  to the end of overall_header.html doesn't do anything. :oops:

The ACP Announcement Centre instruction. Have you installed it also on we_clearblue?

Sorry weeb, I can't see any separate instruction other than those at the time of install. I thought all I was doing was adding a file to we_clearblue/template not editing files or installing other stuff....most confused.

I don't know why this isn't working. I have done the following:

1. uploaded announcement_centre.html to we_clearblue/template
2. added  to the bottom of overall_header.html in we_clearblue/template
3. refreshed everything and still no luck

phpbb3 is new to me (as if you hadn't already guessed!!) but I have followed your instructions....I don't know what else to do, the announcement box just doesn't show up so I am missing something

To sum up: does this modification work on default styles on your forum?

To install this modification (and any other) in another style you should:

Copy all included files designed for prosilver also to we_clearblue directory
Copy file attached by me
Modify we_clearblue files in the same way as for prosilver (as I remember it was only overall_header.html)
Refresh style components and purge forum cache

Some of those steps you've done.

Don't forget to configure MOD in Administration Control Panel

Yes it worked perfectly in the default style. Anyway, I managed to get it working in the end after some trial and error in removing the announcement_centre.html file, adding it back again and re-editing overall_header.html, refreshing everything afterwards.

Why it didn't work before I don't know but it works now. Thanks for writing the additional file to make the announcement centre work in your theme, your help is very much appreciated

I have another question. Did You have any problem with bbcode formatting or using emotes in announcments after installing it on we_clearblue? I don't know really what i done wrong. I checked modifications in files twice, and there was no mistake. Only thing i had to do uncommonly (? - sorry for my english

) was changing the names of some fields in database (because of length limits in mysql server). I'm sure that i changed any connections with this fields in modification code.
