Are you sure you don't want to update to phpBB 3.3, the latest branch of phpBB?
The Full Package Update is the recommended way to update your phpBB installation to the latest version.
With this update method, you will be guided through the steps needed to update your phpBB installation to the latest version:
- Backup of your current files and database
- Updating files to the latest version
- Updating the database to latest version
The Full Package Update will require some files and folders to be removed from the full phpBB package before uploading
them to your board.

Note:
The Automatic Update has been renamed to
Advanced Update.
It should only be used by expert users in case core files have been modified.
