User Guide
The user guide contains detailed documentation articles for those using phpBB, whether they be administrators, moderators, or end-users. These articles are maintained by the phpBB.com staff and can provide you with the information you need to resolve most of the commonly encountered problems when using phpBB.
Keep in mind that we are still updating and revising these articles.

Knowledge Base
The knowledge base contains articles created by community members (as well as staff members), which cover a wide range of subjects. These include tutorials for commonly encountered tasks or problems, guides for particular board customisations, hosting situations, etc.
The knowledge base should be regarded as an extension of the user guide, providing additional information where it's needed.
Articles submitted by members of the community are checked for accuracy by the relevant phpBB Team. If you do not find the answer to your question here, we recommend looking through the Support Section as well as using the Site Wide Search.
